Very serious more often than not, Timothy almost functions as the unspoken team dad through a lot of their traveling. Timothy is patient -- and very wise, due to having lived much longer than many others in their group -- but he does his best not to come off as condesending or rude. He is a formidable opponent on the battlefield and he is very protective of those with him. The last thing he wants is more loss, and Taylen is a source of worry.

As the one who frets over every injury and possible sickness, Timothy still functions as a genius of an apothecary, and he does his best to help the others whenever they need it. This includes Cian, especially; not only because the cleric is the means of kicking off the apocolypse --- but because Timothy loves him very deeply.

Their relationship is a point of stress as well as comfort for him on their journey.
backstory

In the heavily wooded forests sits a cabin that has seen better days. This cabin has been sitting for well over 100 years at this point, built by the Sumnyrs, who are known for preferring the quiet over the bustle that can come with towns or even cities, which are starting to become more common.

A graveyard sits not too far away from the cabin itself -- Sumnyrs who lived their lives and lost them, some ... a little too soon. The dates placed on graves tell a story that is well-known throughout the world: potential snuffed out by illness. One that doesn't have a cure, just yet. This illness presents itself first as a cough, but autopsies have shown that the lungs change and become suitable for a specific, deadly plant to grow there. Those who fall ill with this sickness do not survive, and therefore, a lot of concern can be raised for those who show the early symptoms: a cough and fatigue.

As of right now, there is no cure -- only measures to make those infected more comfortable as the plant takes over their bodies and fills their lungs until breathing is no longer possible.

Many people have tried to find ways to ease the suffering or to outright kill the infestation when it begins, but records show no luck whatsoever.

This has a lot to do with the fact that Timothy Sumnyr burned all of his findings when he realized his own breakthrough.

Previously a ticking time bomb, Timothy contracted the very same illness that has been slowly spreading from town to town. He did all sorts of research and even tests -- though he did not feel comfortable with finding answers on bodies that were not his own. Knowing his time was limited, Timothy did everything he could to try and destroy the plants taking over his lungs -- and one day, he finally succeeded. Though the plants left scarring and a slight cough behind, Timothy found himself able to breathe much better than he had in months previous --- and he hoped to cure all in a similar manner ...

Until he realized, that is, that his treatment came with an unexpected side-effect: immortality. Trapped to live forever, the apothecary destroyed every single word he wrote down during his process -- knowing too well that the trade-off would be sought by the worst people in existence.

Is it worth healing someone if doing so forces them to watch all of their loved ones to grow old without them? Is sickness a better alternative to facing everything alone? A lot of these questions continue to haunt him as he travels, as he tries to find better answers -- and he knows he has nothing but time to do just that.

bonds

  • x Cian Frostrane x
  • The one who Timothy has gotten very attached to since they started traveling together. Timothy constantly worries about Cian and rarely misses an oppertunity to speak or cuddle with him. The two sneak off often in towns or cities to have some alone-time.

  • x Arden Kells x
  • Timothy cannot forget the fact that Arden's entire life had been leading up to the part where he was supposed to kill Cian and he is trying his best to find some of the same trust in him that Cian feels. This, accompanied by Arden's teasing nature, can make things a bit tense between them.

  • x Odera Appleby x
  • Odera, like Orion, is one of the Altered Humans -- though she acts very differently. Much more driven by a drive to kill and eat, Timothy has had to help her overcome food poisoning several times and it has made them something like friends.

  • x Pria Heartly x
  • Timothy is doing his best to help Pria heal from not only losing her eye, but her friends as well. The two speak at length about difficult topics, and Timothy is very thankful to have her around.

  • x Taylen Wakefield x
  • Timothy worries about Taylen a LOT, especially because they are doomed to die in a horrible way. Timothy's focus with Taylen is less the mental aspect of everything and instead hones in on the physical -- with a goal to make sure that Taylen feels very little pain or discomfort.

  • x Horologium Liutprand x
  • Someone that Timothy trusts very deeply and whom he tries to help in whatever ways that he can.

  • x Orion x
  • Timothy worries about and looks after Orion a lot like a father would, though neither of them want to observe it too much.
